About the ICCNS

IWelcome to ICCNS

Welcome

A family of six regulatory proteins designated by the CCN acronym [for Connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), Cystein-rich protein (Cyr61) and Nephroblastoma overexpressed (nov)] has been uncovered over the past decade. The involvement of the CCN proteins in fundamental biological processes such as cell adhesion and migration, angiogenesis, development and signaling in normal and pathological conditions have increased the need for bringing together investigators in the field. It is important that research teams who are new comers and leaders in this field meet on a regular basis to discuss future prospects and unify their efforts in order for the CCN field to become widely recognized and highly interactive. The International CCN Society (ICCNS) has been created in 2001 after the First International Workshop on the CCN Family of Genes held in St Malo, 17-19 October, 2000. The ICCNS welcomes you.

Goals

The main goals of the society are to:

  • Provide comprehensive information related to the field of the CCN genes and proteins.
  • Facilitate and organize the CCN workshops and other related meetings.
  • Facilitate and promote the distribution of reagents among the CCN community.
  • Promote contacts with others scientific societies.
  • Provide help, suggestions and recommendations for nomenclature.
  • Provide a forum for discussion and interaction.
  • Provide support for information on "open" and "wanted" positions
  • Promote the dissemination of scientific information through the publication of the Journal of Cell Communication and Signaling (www.springer.com/12079).

Location

The International CCN society is a non-profit association, hosted at the Palais du Grand Large in Saint Malo, France, where the First International Workshop on the CCN Family of Genes was organized.

Organisation

The Executive Board of the International CCN Society is comprised of:
